How We Raise Our Cattle      Gallery
At Angel Acres Farm, we believe in and practice naturally sustainable farming. It is an important point to remember that cattle are naturally intended to eat grass. You may have noticed that cows don’t have thumbs and can’t shuck corn. Why do cows have four stomachs and slowly chew their cud? It is to break down the grass and fully absorb the nutrients. The Belted Galloway breed of cattle is especially proficient at foraging and growing on a pure grass fed diet.

Our fields are loaded with fescue and clover. We rotate the cattle between the fields to keep them on the best grasses. We cut the grass in the excess fields and then store it for winter hay. The herd is personally supervised daily.

Our Beltie’s are never fed animal byproducts or injected with growth hormone like typical feedlot cattle.  We do not use any kind of cattle prods. Every one of our herd is checked by a veterinarian annually. Mature steers are ready for processing around between twenty-four and twenty-eight months of age.  The herd is personally supervised daily.
